How big is fashion in Tbilisi? Well, possibly bigger than the country itself. The story of how this off-the-grid, Eastern European nation became a fashion hot spot is long one, and undoubtedly worthy of a post of its own. (Although, in case you were wondering, it sorta started with Vetements, or more precisely, its head designer Demna Gvasalia, whose success turned many fashionable heads and hearts to the map-dot country of Georgia).
The fashion scene exploded, seemingly over the course of a few years. And if you’re the sort of person who taps celebrity and blogger #ootd posts for deets on where to snag their looks, you might have already noticed there’s a whole lotta fashionistas hiking up red carpets sporting the handiwork of young Georgian talent.

Chock-full of flawless suiting, sensations of empowerment and exquisite materials, this year’s event, which wrapped up on May 6, was definitely one for the books. Here are some of the week’s most indelible moments.
