The lowdown:
The human body, unclothed, has been depicted in art for thousands of years. The Getty’s Exhibition “The Renaissance Nude,” which is open till Jan. 27, 2019, introduces viewers to a different way of looking at the nude human form in portraiture. In other words, the exhibition clearly shows how every piece of work was very much affected by the historical circumstances in which it was dreamed up. Not to mention, it celebrates much-lauded developments in technique and style and shines premium-quality spotlights on pivotal moments in history, boasting works by the likes of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo and Dürer.
