What LAFW Runway Shows Taught Us About Beauty

When it came to makeup, the color palettes at LAFW SS19 got a little rowdy. Lipsticks were daring and sunny, or quite the opposite—peachy to accommodate heavy strokes of winged eyeliner. Cheeks glimmered and glowed.  The season also saw a proliferation of equally spirited hair—serpentine braids, wind-swept, pastel pixie dos and cotton-candy-like teased ponytails. Suffice to say, as we surveyed the fashion, we also took notes. Here are a few lessons we picked up from the runway.

Play around with unicorn freckles

And it’s even better when paired with fun hair.

Swirl some blush on your temples

Don’t be afraid to get artsy with bangs

Even if that means dipping a finger in the ol’ bottle of hair gel.

Step up your middle-part game with braids

Because you can still sport Coachella hair when it’s not Coachella.
